Words from the artist:
This effort came at an interesting time for me.
I believe everyone has specific things they need to learn and work on in their evolution before they can move on. Personally, patience is something I have struggled with my whole life, it is absolutely what I am here to learn and have yet to master. I think a lot of folks do as well; certainly people of my generation. I often feel anxious if I don’t have a plan or course of action and over stress instead of letting things unfold naturally even-though it always works out. Once I know what I want, I have very little patience for anything else, so It’s almost ironic that I work in a medium that requires time, tolerance and even a little suffering. I don’t think the amount of coffee I consume in a given day helps either. Recently, I have made it a priority to focus on being patient in attempt to clear this personal hurdle. My intent is becoming clearer, and the approach is forming. I won’t go into specifics and bore people but I couldn’t be more excited for the things ahead.
For now, we practice a little patience.
This work was created for an exhibition in New York and to kick off a working relationship with the great folks at Garde . I was honored to be the only American represented among the selection of talent curated from around the globe. I can’t speak highly enough of Scotti and John, their vision and sensibilities. Thank you for including me.
