BEING PRESENT
2021
Recycled EPS, Fiberglass, Resin, 24k Gold Leaf
48” x 48” x 3”
Words from the artist:
In a continuation in the Destruction series and named after a personal intention for this time of life. Something very personal, but for many of us, more relatable than ever. I am guilty of overthinking when you gotta just let things do what they do. These efforts are also something of a personal test of patience and being present in the process; starting off perfectly clean and then adding, by way of the gold sheets being laid down. But then, I go in a change it all up- as seems what happens with just about anything in life. It almost looks like something you’d see in a history book. It speaks to me- as they are created to be perfectly imperfect- which to me is interesting and most desirable. I love it.
