Let us talk about feelings - and time.
I’m a little obsessed with time. How we see it how we spend it and who we spend it with. My own love language is time. To me, time is the most valuable thing we have to offer. Moreover the feelings we have about those we love. When you love someone you just want them to be around all the time, at least that’s the idea of how it’s supposed to feel.
This piece was made for a private collector in Los Angeles whose emphasis on family is something I admire.
I like this work for a number of reasons; I tried some new things and it worked in our favor. I love the framing in the subject matter with a raw edge which presented a few challenges and required an “up” in our game and understanding the material. The colors are subtle and sophisticated, and the matte/ gloss finish reveals the ever present message people often feel, but sometimes just don’t say enough.
PS the Cranberries still rock!
