Recycled EPS, Fiberglass, Resin, Pigment, Found Plastics, Hi Gloss

48” x 48” x 3”

Words from the artist:

Quite literally little pieces of home have found their way into this piece. The plastics are from the same batch we collected, washed, and processed from a beach clean-up in March of 2021. Now they live again as a bit of beauty and maybe a little bit of a warning as well. I’m grateful to be adding this work to the collection of some good friends and appreciate the love! Looking forward to an in-person inspection soon.

I make efforts to stay away from putting too much of an agenda into my works, but I can say one thing I am passionate about is all things related to the oceans. I grew up in a community that speaks with a sense of respect, responsibility, and thoughtfulness when talking about them. I was so fortunate to be raised around and on the water mostly through the kindness of friends and their families who are much more “water people” than my own. It’s the one thing my friends can all truly agree on and where we all feel most at home. Here’s a little reminder of how fortunate we all are and maybe pick up after yourself next time you go to the beach. I guess I see these specks as little “pieces of appreciation”.
